Spotify CANVAS

A Spotify canvas is a very short, silent video that is played (and continually looped) as a song is streamed by a listener) .Very short means VERY short - a maximum of 8 seconds. Obviously it is beneficial to have a video that relates to the song in some way but this is not always possible. If you create videos for YouTube, you might be able to extract a short segment to use as a canvas. One simple device is to use a still photo of thr artist and zoom in for a few seconds to give some movement. Another option is to build a simple animation.

I use an app called ‘?Talking Pictures’ to create singing videos and sometimes use the first few seconds (when the artist is swaying gently to the music intro) as a canvas. The canvas is loaded online as part of the ‘Spotify for Artists’ site. You can load multiple canvases for a song and Spotify will use one at random each time the song is streamed.

See below for examples of simple animations (the first of which uses the title of the song.) . (Remember these are silent videos.)
